The Pen Division (Research)

The Nine Swords Pen division is the forefront of knowledge for the entire cabal. It is our duty to keep everyone else up to date on the war against the coming darkness. If someone has a question, The Pen will have the answer.

Those aspiring to join the Pen should have patience and perseverance. Rome was not built in a day and neither will our database. The work for the Pen never ends, and we will always be there, equipped with our Pen and notepad!

What do we stand for at the Pen?

Knowledge Is Power
In other words, we seek to strengthen our cabal by providing them with precise and up-to-date information when they need it. This is the main overarching principle for the Pen.

Exploration
Exploring the lay of the land, and perhaps mapping coordinates for things that are not available on the map, such as side quests and lore and spawning locations for rare enemies. We should also strive to be among the first to explore new areas as they are revealed so our data is as up to date as possible, and if we can't get there, conscript people who can and ask them to go on research missions.

Observation
Members of the Pen must keep their eyes and notebooks open as much as possible, recording everything they feasibly can. The most obvious would be monster, loot, crafting data and things of that sort, but we should also see if we can point out interesting things of note, or pop-culture references (there are TONS all over the place) to give some flavor.

Archive
We must archive everything we learn in a structured and easily-accessible manner so that our cabal members can easily find what they need, when they need it.

Collaboration
We will be the central focus for knowledge. For this we will be working very closely with all divisions, and there will be occasions when tasks will be set up for one of these divisions. We must be prepared to work very closely with others, gathering the information that is fit for their purpose.

Represent and Respect
This should hold true for ALL cabal members, but it is especially important for the Pen to be respectful to all other players, regardless of affiliation (within reason, of course) because as we are basically kind of like an information sharing force! That's why it's extra important for the Pen to represent our cabal to the best of our ability in all matters, especially those pertaining to other players.
