Summary

A Conquistador with the power to map out Agartha got lost in time. We found him in our time and recruited him. We sent him on missions to explore the unknowns of Agartha... What he found was terrifying.

A wormhole to an apocalyptic possible future version of Agartha, infested with fungi that feeds on Anima. Here we will face The Wandering Others. But our travels to this dark realm won't be easy. The timeline will try to reject us. The inhabitants of the timeline will attempt to consume our Anima.

Location

As the mission "A Step in Time" will instruct you, the portal to Dark Agartha is on a detached branch below the Gatekeeper in Agartha. There is no jump pad to get here, simply jump off the platform next to the Gatekeeper and you will land on the Dark Agartha branch.

Cost of Entry

For your first visit to Dark Agartha you can visit a Bounty Board in regular Agartha to pick up the mission "A Step in Time". This mission will take you to the Shadow Trafficker where Jerónimo has left a package for you. This package will be used automatically when you leave the barrier (attune to the time-stream) inside Dark Agartha to void the AP and SP cost. This mission is unrepeatable.

Subsequent visits will cost 7 AP and 15 SP.

After attuning to the time-stream you will traverse the branches of Dark Agartha facing 4 of The Wandering Others in one-on-one battles before the encounter with the final boss.

Each enemy has special capabilities which determine the mechanics of the fight. The platform itself also has its own trait. On each platform there is a broken honeycomb on the ground; The Echo of Knowledge. This will tell you about the capabilities your enemy and the traits of the platform so that you can adapt your build to suit the fight.

Some capabilities are unique to one or a few specific enemies while others are generic and may apply to any enemy.

Tight Quarters This platform did not finish growing to its full size before the apocalypse rent the essence of life from Gaia.  
Distorted Energy Energy pulses in strange ways from other dimensions, drawn to the fearsome creature. The energy empowers its target, reducing damage it takes. Physical contact with the energy sphere will temporarily disrupt the foe's shield.

Boss will block %80 of the incoming damage until energy sphere is collected.

Debris The cracked surface of the planet above sometimes creaks and shakes loose rubble and debris. Be wary, for the falling earth is dangerous.  
Toxic Spores Toxic Spores from the peculiar fungi growing within the dead corpse of the world have wafted to the area. They are drawn to forces of anima, and will poison and possibly even kill any such source. Some safe zones exist and may be used to protect against the spores.  
Memory Of Flames Fame is a memory that never dies, can never be truly extinguished. Here it has taken physical form as tightly packed and intensely burning pockets of energy. Beware these pockets, for they move unpredictably.  
Gravity's Mark Falling debris smashed through the very center of this platform, dangerously superheating the dry Agarthan wood. It has been seen to spontaneously ignite.  
Shattered Twig One of Agartha's many Unending Twigs, it suffered a terrible fate when multidimensional claws dislodged platforms and twigs above it. Be careful where you step. Boss will teleport to next platform when its hp reaches certain threshold.
Shattered Unity Tragedy in several parts, a story of distant attraction and sudden meeting. Even as close as they are now, they still do not have the pleasure of touch. Boss will teleport to random platform when its hp reaches certain threshold.

Psychic Entrapment Manifestations best avoided. May trigger on proximity. Spawns 4 manifestations. Stepping in one of them pulls you into it and knocks you down.
Purging Attacks can purge buffs, and may sometimes do piercing damage.  
Controlling Attacks snare the victim. Deals additional damage to targets at range.

May enter a rage, greatly increasing damage at the cost of speed.

Gives buff "Primal Rage" increasing damage dealt by 400% and reducing damage taken by 100%. Gets debuff "Exhausted" after and take 50% more damage for 8 seconds.

Supersonic Howl A supersonic howl capable of silencing.

Very large AOE that covers most of the platform if cast from the center.

Echoing Wail A death wail from the other side that returns to its source.

Circle AOE that starts small, repeats in larger increments and then reverts back to small. Stuns on hit.

Spectral Storm Manifest a rapidly moving etheral storm front

Damaged Gatekeeper

If we successfully complete the first 4 encounters we get to face the Damaged Gatekeeper. Although the enemy and the platform will always be the same, the capabilities of the Damaged Gatekeeper may differ between runs.

Beware the fungus that survives the end of the world, for it feeds indiscriminately. Its diet may have had some unusual results. And why is it that color?

Capabilities

Anima Drain Drains your anima then transfuses into the remnants of Gaia. Interruptible.  
Plasma Fling forward a ball of unstable plasma that detonates on contact. Commonly cast right after "Deconstruction Protocol". Travels in a straight line until it reaches the edge and then stays there.
Electromagnetic Force Recall plasma orbs at high velocity, triggering explosions.  
Short Circuit More prone to malfunction. Attacks may apply a damage over time.  
Anima Redistribution Anima Transfusion heals based on how much damage Anima Drain inflicted.  
Fork Process Split off tasks, like killing you, into another construct  
Discharge Release a cone of electrical energy, stunning victims  
Charge Every successfull attack increases next discharge's damage  
Interface Fork Process creates an additional construct  

Boosters

After you enter Dark Agartha, before attuning to the time-stream, there is an Irreparable Custodian of Curios. Here you can purchase items to facilitate your expedition.

Luxon-Rich Spray 2,400 Increases the time you have to complete Dark Agartha by 5 minutes. Lasts for 1 attempt. Can only be used before attuning to a time-stream in Dark Agartha.
Gravity-Resistant Spores 1,000 Falling into the abyss does not consume lives. Lasts for 1 attempt. Can only be used before attuning to a time-stream in Dark Agartha.
Distilled Anima - Heal Rating and Attack Rating 100 Grants 600 Heal Rating and 600 Attack Rating for 30 minutes. Requires Level 50 to use.
Distilled Anima - Max Health and Attack Rating 100 Grants 1000 Max Health and 600 Attack Rating for 30 minutes. Requires Level 50 to use.

Rewards

The first time you complete Dark Agartha with the mission "A Step in Time" you will receive a free Elaborate Glyph Imbuer. This item will upgrade an epic or above Intricate glyph to Elaborate (4-pip).

After beating the Damaged Gatekeeper you will be presented with a chest with potential contents being Anima Shards, Elaborate Glyph Fragments, Resplendant Talisman Fragments, Extraordinary Weapon and Extraordinary Talisman. In addition if you are in a Challenge version of Dark Agartha you may find cosmetic items in the chest. The amount of Elaborate Glyph Fragments dropped scales based on difficulty. The fragments can be sold and traded. 300 Fragments can be combined into one Imbuer.

IF you are receiving this, we are gone. They are eating us! WE ARE EATEN. We are dying! WE ARE DEAD. No longer outside of time. We are past tense. WE WERE. This is an echo-recording-transmission cast out in to the void. MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE.

Entry 3:

The Dreaming Ones woke. Then all there was-was eating. EATING. Devouring matter and light and gravity and time and slurping the skin of reality. Even black holes nervously closed their slavering event horizons for fear of offending worse predators. The Dreaming ones ate and ate and ate - then they left. One by one distant stars will wink out.

 Entry 4:

The tarot deck is dissolved. Only a few, stained cards remain.

Flip the ace of Fungi.

Agartha is a chewed ruins. And yet there are the fungi, they live and grow as mushrooms do after a great forest fire. They should not be. Yet they grow!

LIFE, UH, FINDS A WAY.

 Entry 5:

The fungi began as spores fallen into pools of the Filth. Improbable mutations. The new life forms fed on the Zero Point Pathogen. Look! There is not a drop of the Sun Eater's excretions left in their wake. The fungi spread and ate it all. They evolved, adapted, thrive in oblivion. What will they evolve into? Will they be all that is left? BEWARE. Inside them boils the pandemonium of thoughts that swirled in the Blackworm Jism. The embryonic horror of endless possibilty.

 Entry 6:

Flip the Wandering Others.

 

You stand at the end of all, sweetling. Yet we calculate that you are not alone. The Dreamers are messy eaters. Their multi-mouths tore gashes in reality. They left holes in their wake. Other beings will fall through those gaping opertures. Some will wriggle through, attracted by the holocaustal vibrations. Take a caution and a care, sweetling. We can only speculate what might be there with you now.

 Entry 7:

Flip the Mutilated Guardian.

 

The Guardian was built from Her plans, from Her divine-circuited DNA - Third Age technology at its finest. It survived the Apocalypse by leaping through time, by hiding in closet-sized demiplanes. It is here with you now, at the end of all things. It is not stable.

Entry 8:

The damaged Guardian is unhinged. Its programming is frayed. Its warped protocols compel it to reach into other times and pull Gaia-imbued bees to it. Like you, sweetling. It will try to extract anima from you and feed it to dead Gaia. A sorrowful sight, were we alive to see, like a deranged toddler stuffing meat to the mouth of its mother's corpse, pushing her jaw up and down, trying to masticate for her, even as the flies land upon her clouded eyes.

Entry 9:

 Flip the Lost Conquistador

 

The strangest, most unlikely interloper at the end of all. A genuine conquistador from your ancient history. He had not the hunger for gold and genocide of his contemporaries. His mind only yearned for knowledge and travel and more and more and more! A strange mind. A mind that grew when he looked upon the schematics of a Third Age relic, a mind that could chart dimensional travel through a multiverse and survive Agartha. The impossible explorer! He traverses space-time barely comprehending how he took the last step. Could he even find his way home? Would he want to?

Entry 10:

They devour us.

 

This is it. This is one possible future in the writhing bouquet of existence. The universe is a rotting graveyard. You are not even a maggot in that cemetery - you are one parasite in the gut of a warm writhing in the corpses.
