As you are already aware, our former Brother, Father Gaelen Grey has escaped us and departed Rome with what we now know to be one of the keys to the 13. We have discerned that it was his recent assignment to the Archivum Secretum, a prestigious assignment pushed through by the late Archbishop of Florence; that brought the former into contact not only with the Journal of Samuel, but the keys to the 13 as well. We also believe he has yet to unlock its significance. But we also know that the Templars have had contact with him. It may also be that 9S has given him sanctuary. We are not sure if they are aware of what he carries. If he were to gain the map from the vault of the 13 then the church could be put in a very compromising position. As you are aware, we have denied their existence from the start. The steps and precautions could all singularly be undone overnight.

But I fear that is not the worst of it your Grace. We have also learned that not only had Father Grey somehow been granted access to the lower levels, a feat we are still trying to discern, but he also may have also gain access to some of the more...enlightened tomes from the Temple. And, he may have had this access for some time. If that is the case, then it may be that the good Father may have reached a certain level of...understanding of these Tomes and their secrets. If so then the good father must now be listed as armed and dangerous and subject to immediate sublatis pelagus. We have already dispatched agents to track him if it is determined necessary. Rest assured, this breech and the dire consequences it posses are being taken very seriously. But I cannot stress enough...we must be prepared for the eventuality that we cannot retrieve that which was taken nor Father Grey.
