The keys tinkered lightly as Max landed them in Sally's palm.

Sally closed her hand on the key set. With an awkward smile, she opened her arms. They hugged each other tightly. Max was the first to let go and kept her hand on Sally's shoulder, giving her an eloquent nod.

— You too...
— Now get out of here.

Sally gave Max a warm smile and watched her walk to the door. Max slightly slowed down as she was passing the doorway but didn't turn around. There was no turning back.
