Chatroom rolling also keeps the ingame chat free, although at the cost of a bit of latency.
Which one to use is up to the raid leader's discretion but I will continue to use chatroom rolling.

Problem was, after having used the chat room since forever, with yesterday being the first time I experienced the ingame roll being used, I immediately minimised the game after the lurker was down storming to enter the chat room here. When I came back ingame, the rolling ingame had already started. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I read the raid chat log very precisely and saw one short line saying that we roll ingame
I'm not judging anybody's methods or anything. I just think that consistency is good. Perhaps be more prominent in alerting to the use of ingame rolling?

I don't think there's a good reason to have to make anyone have to switch back and forth between the game and anything else to roll for and reward loot if it can be done in one place. It's still easier to roll in-game, full cabal raid or not, and raid leaders have to do enough screen switching with updating the points script already.Aberlour wrote:At this point, we could switch over to the chat, but the NA raid uses in-game rolling because we used to run with like, half the team not in the cabal and in-game rolling was easier.
Maybe putting a note in whatever version of the points script is used for the NA raid that says all loot rolls are done in-game using /roll would help allay future confusion.

The script I use for the two "NA" raids does that, actually. I should send that to Fig too.Shock G wrote:Maybe putting a note in whatever version of the points script is used for the NA raid that says all loot rolls are done in-game using /roll would help allay future confusion.

The link I use opens the in-game browser, there's no switching.Shock G wrote:I don't think there's a good reason to have to make anyone have to switch back and forth between the game and anything else to roll for and reward loot if it can be done in one place. Am staying with chatroom rolling because the record of he rolls has been important before.

Yeah, that's the biggest advantage with the chatroom rolling. It's definitely easy to wipe the chat logs in game.Claretta wrote:Am staying with chatroom rolling because the record of he rolls has been important before.
