Noticing the gentleman who entered, I brought up my text message function and began to write.

Maxwell! It's good to see a familiar face! I hope the rain didn't ruin your suit too much, But I did tell you to come earlier just in case. So, I talked with you-know-who and I think its over between me and her, I think its fair to say this job has made her sick of me. So on that note, I'm sure you saw the lady with the giant axe. (no pun intended), she's...interesting. to say the least. Well, when you are done with your report come and sit by me, we hae much to discuss before the meeting begins.

Going back to my business reports I take a quick glance around the room. While staring off into space i smile and nod to myself, then go back to work.

"You could have opted for the Horned God, or simply your room for that matter..."

Maxime just shrugged at Sinclaire and kept looking around. This was definitely not the touristic London from the postcards...

Conlan Smiles polity in response.

"I honestly would rather, but I had a message to be here. So here I am."

He glanced at the other people in the coffeehouse.

"Looks like a meeting of some sort."

He sits up and leans on the table whispering to Max.

"A few of them look a bit too irritated to be in a place where people go to relax." He nods in their direction.

Maxime briefly frowned and started to examine the other clients more closely.

A woman was nervously hooked up on her laptop. She seemed to be one of these women who stamp the ground they walk upon. She looked to be a good match with the other woman who was sitting in front of her, with this huge ax strapped over her shoulder and hanging in her back. Maxime looked at Conlan and discreetly tilted her chin toward them.

"I don't think I'd choose them if I had to ask the time to someone..." she said, perking an eyebrow.

She resumed her observation, her eyes moving on to a man was sitting apart, busy with his phone. A mix of impatience and expectation seemed to irradiate from him.

Next to a window, a couple was comfortably sitting on a sofa with some sweets, chatting discreetly. The man had a notebook which he was consulting.

At a nearby table was seated another man who was consulting data and was apparently keeping quiet.

The man who had entered last was also busy with a smart phone. Maxime spent some more time studying this one. He looked sleek and yet, he ordered a white chocolate moka, a drink that festive and passionate people usually order. Despite a rather small frame, his face indicated that he was no stranger to brawls.

"Hmmm..." she said to herself. She turned to her friend.

"Do you think any of them are here for the same reason you and I are?..."

Conlan glances out again, lingering on the couple near the window.

"More then a few, yes."

he leans slightly to see the couple better and then sits back upright in his seat.

"Might know them, but I'm not sure."

He shrugs lightly and sips his spiked coffee, and then checks his watch.

Katelin snuggles herself into the comfy sofa, pushes off her shoes and clasps her mug in both hands. She takes a long deep sip from the cup and looks over at her husband.

Almost finished? Your coffee is going cold...

She looks into the mug ready to take her next sip.. there is something in there. Its plastic? She looks around.. another long sip. She slips her feet back in shoes and excuses herself to go to the bathroom. Plastic safely between her teeth and her cheek.
If you find yourself forced to mercilessly slaughter your teammates because they become infected with some rare mutation, keep in mind that you are only doing your job -
They would do the same for you.

As SirVent finishes up his status reports, He comes across a heavily encrypted message from his agent in Tokyo...and his eyes widen as he reads the words he wished he hadn't...

Now this can't be right...

In complete denial, SirVent browses over to international news, thinking an incident like this surely couldn't have escaped the public eye, and sure enough there it was

OROCHI GROUP TOKYO OFFICES ATTACKED

Oh hell...

Doing all within his power to seem undisturbed, at least for the sake of seeming professional, he looks up at Maxwell with a panicked gaze, body language screaming "Are you seeing this?!

Looking at his display for while Maxwell realises only some moments later that he has been texted. A smile crosses his face as he finishs reading the message and he puts his phone slowly onto the table to take a sip of his beverage and throw a dreamy look at the room in general and then outside the window again.
He enjoys the drumming of the rain drops on the window glass and gets lost in memories for some seconds. With a slight shaking of his head he snaps back to the present. Carefully he picks up the phone and sends an answer.

Funny how things with women tend to work out when you work in our line of business. I hope she did not try to kill you, these things tend to leave a scar.
I really wonder who brings an axe to a coffeehouse. Hopefully there will be no trouble, I don't pack much equipment right now.
Ah, and hey, good to see you here Big Boy. =) I'll be over in a minute, just making sure no one is following.

With another sip Maxwell takes another look at the room over the edge of his mug.

A nervous twitch in the dark. A spark of erratic light in the void. To a psychic, that's all you see when someone else's thoughts interrupt your sleep.

It's an unfortunate side effect of being able to perceive the thoughts of others. When someone gets excited, you know. It draws your attention away from everything else. I remember spending many a sleepless night staring at the ceiling because someone was awake in my house. Of course, with practice, your ability to ignore it increases. But sometimes it's almost impossible to ignore. Deep sleep loosens the mind and lets it wander. And when wayward minds and wayward thoughts collide, *Boom*.

With whatever will I stored before my body collapsed on the table before me, I began to stir. My eyes, heavy with sand, could barely open without force. Even in the low levels, the soft glow from the cozy lamp lights stung a bit. A small tug interrupted my still dazed and derailed train of thought. Physical contact still draws my attention faster than psychic contact.

"You alright there?" A familiar sweet, feminine voice asked.

I attempted to smile in the direction of the voice. It probably looked like a grimace to her.

"Mmmm yeah, it's fine Claire. I'm fine. Just dosed off."

"For an hour and a half. Your tea's gone cold. And you may have drooled on your...whatever you have there."

I shot up in the seat. During my snooze I buried my face in the myriad of papers.

"Ah that's just fantastic."

"I'll get some napkins for you. You want another cup?"

"Another,"
I stumbled over my words once, before regaining control over my speech, "another Earl Gray. Two Sugars." I lowered my heavy head back to the paper pile. Perfect for a makeshift pillow.

"Living dangerous, aren't we?" Claire said, a small chuckle as walked away. I chuckled as well, my breath warming my face.
I once tried playing Blind Man's Bluff with a Tarot Deck. Someone got the Ten of Swords, and well, that was the end of that.

*the door opens again, this time a young woman entering to get out of the rain. She wears a pair of tattered jeans and a worn blue coat with a hood up that at one time might have kept her dry...but is now soaked through. She takes a quick look around, hoping no one was staring at her. She pulls her phone from her coat pocket, using a sleeve to wipe the water away, quickly realizing it was useless to do so.*

What a wonderful time to forget your umbrella Eulalia... *shakes her head slightly with a sigh. She moves to an empty table, not wanting to disturb anyone. She pulls back the hood revealing a young face and soft red shoulder length hair. She keeps her eyes down for the moment*
